Wat Mahathat วัดมหาธาตุ
Wat Mahathat is a temple that served as the center of Buddhism during the prosperous era of Ayutthaya. It was used for various royal religious ceremonies and housed the relics of the Buddha within the temple. It also served as the residence of the Supreme Patriarch of the Kammavaca sect. Today, Wat Mahathat is part of the Historic City of Ayutthaya, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its cultural significance in 1991. It is located in the Mueang Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.

วัดมหาธาตุ เป็นวัดที่ทำหน้าที่เป็นศูนย์กลางของพุทธศาสนาในสมัยที่กรุงศรีอยุธยายังมีความรุ่งเรือง ใช้จัดพระราชพิธีต่างๆทางศาสนา มีการประดิษฐานพระบรมสารีริกธาตุไว้ภายในวัด และใช้เป็นสถานที่พำนักของสมเด็จพระสังฆราชฝ่ายคามวาสี โดยวัดมหาธาตุในปัจจุบันเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของอุทยานประวัติศาสตร์พระนครศรีอยุธยา ซึ่งได้รับการยกย่องให้เป็นมรดกโลกทางด้านวัฒนธรรมจากองค์กรยูเนสโกในปี พ.ศ. 2534 ตั้งอยู่ที่อำเภอเมืองพระนครศรีอยุธยา จังหวัดพระนครศรีอยุธยา
