Wat Chaiwatthanaram วัดไชยวัฒนาราม
Located on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River outside the city island, this temple was commissioned by King Prasat Thong, the 24th monarch of Ayutthaya (AD 1630-1655), in the year 1630. It is renowned as one of the most beautiful temples in Ayutthaya. Another significant aspect is that this temple serves as the burial site of Prince Thammathibet (Prince Kung), a prominent poet of the late Ayutthaya period, along with Prince Sangwan, who was executed by royal decree during the reign of King Boromakot. Notable features within the temple include the Phra Prang Si Rattana Mahathat, which is the main prang of the temple, situated on a square base with prangs at each of the four corners. The construction of this large prang by King Prasat Thong, a ruler of the late Ayutthaya period, signifies a revival of the architectural style of the early Ayutthaya period, which favored the prang as the central feature of temples.

ตั้งอยู่ริมแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยาฝั่งตะวันตกนอกเกาะเมือง เป็นวัดที่พระเจ้าปราสาททอง กษัตริย์กรุงศรีอยุธยาองค์ที่ 24 ( พ.ศ. 2173-2198) โปรดให้สร้างขึ้นเมื่อ พ.ศ. 2173 ได้ชื่อว่าเป็นวัดที่มีความงดงามมากแห่งหนึ่งในกรุงศรีอยุธยา
ริมแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยาฝั่งตะวันตกนอกเกาะเมือง เป็นวัดที่พระเจ้าปราสาททอง กษัตริย์กรุงศรีอยุธยาองค์ที่ 24 ( พ.ศ. 2173-2198) โปรดให้สร้างขึ้นเมื่อ พ.ศ. 2173 ได้ชื่อว่าเป็นโบราณสถานที่มีความงดงามมากแห่งหนึ่ง ความสำคัญอีกประการหนึ่งคือ วัดนี้เป็นที่ฝังพระศพของเจ้าฟ้าธรรมธิเบศร์(เจ้าฟ้ากุ้ง) กวีเอกสมัยอยุธยาตอนปลายกับเจ้าฟ้าสังวาลย์ซึ่งต้องพระราชอาญาโบยจนสิ้นพระชนม์ในรัชสมัยของพระเจ้าอยู่หัวบรมโกศ สิ่งที่น่าชมภายในวัดได้แก่ พระปรางค์ศรีรัตนมหาธาตุ เป็นปรางค์ประธานของวัดตั้งอยู่บนฐานสี่เหลี่ยมจัตุรัสและที่มุมฐานมีปรางค์ทิศประจำอยู่ทั้งสี่มุม การที่สมเด็จพระเจ้าปราสาททองซึ่งเป็นกษัตริย์สมัยอยุธยาตอนปลายทรงสร้างปรางค์ขนาดใหญ่เป็นประธานของวัด เท่ากับเป็นการรื้อฟื้นศิลปะสมัยอยุธยาตอนต้นที่นิยมสร้างปรางค์เป็นประธานของวัด
