Wat Kut Thong วัดกุฏิ
This is an ancient temple in Phetchaburi province, with the ubosot constructed entirely of teak wood. If you want to admire the harmonious blend of cultural art between the central region and the northeastern region, you must visit the ubosot of Wat Kudi, which is a teak temple featuring intricate carvings depicting stories from the Buddhist Jataka tales. The carvings cover approximately 20 sides, with each panel illustrating different Jataka stories, including the Mahachat Jataka in 13 parts, the Dasadhamma Jataka featuring Phra Chanakumarn, Phra Phromnat, Phra Temi Bai, Phra Burithat, Phra Nemi Raj, and Suwannasarn, as well as carvings from the Journey to the West. This ubosot was built by Phra Khru Kasem Sutakhun (Luang Por Chum) in 1930, and the external carvings of the temple likely draw inspiration from the mural paintings found on the exterior of temples in the northeastern region, commonly referred to as "Sim."

หากอยากชมการผสมผสานศิลปวัฒนธรรมระหว่างภาคกลางกับภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือที่มีความลงตัวแล้ว คงต้องเดินทางมาชมพระอุโบสถของวัดกุฎิซึ่งเป็นโบสถ์ไม้สักที่มีการแกะสลักเรื่องราวของพุทธชาดกไว้ โดยรอบทั้งหมดประมาณ 20 ด้านและแต่ละแผงนั้นแกะสลักเรื่องราวชาดกในตอนต่าง ๆ ได้แก่ มหาชาติชาดก 13 กัณฑ์ ทศชาติชาดก ตอนพระจันทกุมาร พระพรหมนาถ พระเตมีย์ใบ้ พระภูริทัต พระเนมิราชและสุวรรณสาม รวมถึงยังมีการสลักเรื่องไซอิ๋วไว้ด้วย พระอุโบสถหลังนี้สร้างขึ้นโดยพระครูเกษม สุตะคุณ (หลวงพ่อชุ่ม) เมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2473 และการเแกะสลักภายนอกโบสถ์เช่นนี้น่าจะใช้คติมาจากการเขียนภาพ ภายนอกอุโบสถของทางภาคอีสานหรือที่เราเรียกกันว่า "สิม" นั่นเอง
