Wat Khao Phra Si Sanphet วัดเขาพระศรีสรรเพชญาราม
Khao Phra Srisanphetaram Temple, or Khao Phra Temple in the past, is an ancient temple believed to date back to the Dvaravati period due to the discovery of several artifacts, such as reclining Buddha statues and various Buddha images carved from stone. Inside the temple, there are many interesting features, such as the "Chakra Narayana Deity" made of stone, which is a high-relief sculpture of a divine figure with four arms, each holding different items like a discus and a staff. Additionally, the "Ayutthaya Stupa Ruins" are located on the hilltop, featuring a square base measuring 8 meters on each side, topped with a bell-shaped structure from the Dvaravati period. This stupa is believed to have been constructed during the Ayutthaya period, built atop the ancient site from the Dvaravati era. Next is the "Replica of the Buddha's Footprint," carved from green sandstone, located at the hilltop, adorned with 108 auspicious patterns within a circular frame. It is thought to represent late Dvaravati art influenced by Khmer art, dating back to around the 16th to 17th Buddhist century. วัดเขาพระศรีสรรเพชญารามหรือวัดเขาพระในอดีต เป็นวัดเก่าแก่ที่สันนิษฐานว่ามีมาตั้งแต่สมัยทวารวดีเพราะพบโบราณวัตถุหลายชิ้น เช่น พระพุทธไสยาสน์ พระพุทธรูปปางต่าง ๆ ซึ่งสลักจากเนื้อหิน ภายในวัดมีสิ่งน่าสนใจมากมาย เช่น "เทวรูปจักรนารายณ์เนื้อหิน" เป็นเทวรูปที่สลักอยู่บนเนื้อหิน ลักษณะเป็นแผ่นหินสลักนูนสูง เป็นรูปทิพยบุคคลมี 4 กร พระหัตถ์ซ้ายขวาทั้งบนและล่าง ล้วนถือสิ่งต่าง ๆ อยู่ เช่น จักร คทา เป็นต้น ส่วน "ซากเจดีย์อยุธยา" ตั้งอยู่บนยอดเขาเป็นเจดีย์ฐานสี่เหลี่ยมจัตุรัส กว้างยาวด้านละ 8 เมตร ส่วนบนเป็นองค์ระฆังสมัยทวารวดี เจดีย์นี้คาดว่าสร้างขึ้นในสมัยอยุธยา โดยสร้างซ้อนทับบนโบราณสถานสมัยทวารวดี ถัดไปคือ "รอยพระพุทธบาทจำลอง" ซึ่งแกะสลักมาจากหินทรายสีเขียว ตั้งอยู่บนยอดเขา สลักลวดลายมงคล 108 ประการ ในกรอบวงกลม คาดว่าเป็นศิลปะสมัยทวารวดีตอนปลายที่ ได้รับอิทธิพลศิลปะขอม อายุน่าจะอยู่ในช่วงประมาณพุทธศตวรรษที่ 16- 17 ความร่มรื่นและความงดงามของวัดแห่งนี้ จึงเป็นจุดหมายปลายทางที่คุณไม่ควรพลาด
