IsWhere Launches "8.8 Thai Helps Thai By IsWhere" Campaign: Free Real-Time Discount Platform Empowers Thais to Discover Nearby Deals, Shops, and Services Nationwide
The campaign features real-time promotional activities from local businesses across Thailand, inviting Thai consumers to boost the economy with a single tap via the IsWhere app—a platform uniting buyers and sellers from every corner of the country in one place.
30 July 2025
IsWhere, a smart Thai-developed directory app, has officially launched its new campaign "8.8 Thai Helps Thai – The Comeback Starts Here," sparking a nationwide movement to revive local businesses and support in-store sales. Powered by SMEs, consumers, and Thai unity, the campaign opens up free online space for merchants to advertise and promote their shops and special offers, while giving consumers real-time access to exclusive local deals starting August 8, 2025.
Somboon Udomwatchanasak, General Manager of IsWhere Thailand, stated: "The 8.8 Thai Helps Thai campaign brings together buyers and sellers on the IsWhere platform to stimulate local spending at a time when Thailand's economy is facing immense challenges—from rising import tariffs to the slowdown in tourism, which hits small communities hardest. IsWhere was developed under the 'online-to-offline' concept to equip SMEs with the digital tools they need to be seen and found online. Launched in partnership with the Thai SME Association, the campaign allows merchants across Thailand to register and post deals on the IsWhere app for free, giving consumers access to offers all year round—not just during the campaign period."
For Thai consumers, IsWhere fits seamlessly into daily life. According to We Are Social (2024), Thais spend more than 5 hours a day on smartphones, with over 80% of them using mobile phones to search for shops and services. IsWhere bridges this behavior with real-world economic impact by enabling users to discover nearby local deals in real-time—all through one simple, all-in-one app.
As part of the 8.8 campaign, which marks the beginning of a nationwide grassroots movement under the theme "Thai Helps Thai," IsWhere aims to foster a sense of solidarity and national pride. The campaign reinforces the message that no one is left behind, even in tough times. IsWhere is committed to being a digital tool that empowers local communities and strengthens Thailand's economic recovery from the ground up.
Currently, the IsWhere platform includes more than 10,000 verified local businesses across various sectors—including food vendors, cafes, beauty services, repair shops, car services, and lifestyle offerings—with a wide community reach in popular districts such as Banthat Thong and Song Wat. The company is working with the Banthat Thong Business Association to consolidate shop data and promotions in one app, allowing users to view nearby stores instantly, search by location, and plan routes to save time and effort
Looking ahead, IsWhere plans to expand its directory coverage nationwide by the end of 2025, aiming to onboard over 100,000 registered shops and reach more than 6 million users by Q1 2026.
Supree Thongpetch, President of the Thai SME Association, commented: "We wholeheartedly support a platform like IsWhere, which equips small businesses—especially community-based ones—with the digital tools they need. Many of these shops have lacked access to online promotion until now. With over 10,000 businesses already on board, we expect the number to double following the 8.8 campaign, helping to drive tangible economic growth at the grassroots level. In high-traffic areas like Banthat Thong, where rising rental costs are a challenge, IsWhere offers a vital, cost-free advertising channel for local businesses."
Designed for convenience, IsWhere eliminates the need to download multiple apps or fill out complicated forms. Consumers can view nearby shops and real-time deals immediately—even without registering. On the business side, merchants can easily sign up and increase their visibility to nearby target groups.
IsWhere is now available for download on both iOS and Android. For more information or to register a business, visit www.iswhere.com or Facebook: IsWhere Thailand. Merchants can begin to register and post deals on the IsWhere app starting today in anticipation of the official 8.8 campaign launch.
